There are three grades of A 106 steel pipe that transport fluids at high temperatures and pressure include:

A106 galvanized pipe and ASTM A106 GR B pipe range from ¼ inch to 26 inches in outer diameter

A-106 pipes are mostly seamless pipes. But ASTM A 106 B ERW pipes are also useful in a few specific applications. ASTM 106 seamless pipes, also known as ASME SA pipes, are useful in many applications in several sectors. The three different grades also offer various uses because of not being welded but only seamless pipes.

A106 seamless pipes, available in three grades and many sizes, are best suited for high-temperature and pressure applications. Also, ASTM A 106 Grade B welded pipes have many excellent properties for many applications.

There are many coatings for ASTM A 106 gr B pipe to have additional properties like corrosion resistance. A few surface treatments of these pipes include black coating, varnishing, FBE, epoxy, polyethylene, CRA Clad, and other coatings.

A106 galvanized pipe have zinc coating, which has high corrosion resistance to protect the pipes. Similarly, the FBE coating gives the pipes flexibility to bend easily in many water supply applications.

A106 gr B material makes pipes for use in high temperatures. Also for use in low-temperature applications as low as -20F or -29C.

A106 carbon steel pipe is said to withstand high temperatures up to 800 F or 427 C. Hence But A 106 seamless pipes are suitable for applications with high-temperature service within the NPS range of 1/8 to 48 inches as per the ASME B36.10M specified average wall thicknesses.
